Yb:YAG Thin Disks

Our standard material is Yb:YAG with 7% of doping concentration. The surface is wegded in order to supress pre-pulses in pulsed operation. Outer crystal edges are beveled to avoid ASE.

Mounting of thin laser crystals, thereby ensuring effective and homogenous cooling, is the key technology for disk lasers. For various laboratory applications as well as for the series production of our OEM customers, we offer disk laser crystals mounted on heatsinks, that are tested at typical operation conditions.

We offer two standard sizes of the laser disk: 12 mm and 20 mm. Two disk thicknesses are available: 0.13 mm and 0.22 mm. Yb:YAG with a doping concentration of 7 at.% Yb3+ is employed. Please refer to the corresponding products TD12-7, TD20-7, etc.  The disk is wedged in order to supress pre-pulses in pulsed operation. Outer crystal edges are bevelled to avoid ASE.

Surface quality conforms to ISO 10110-7 imperfection of the final surface of 5/4x0.04; L 2x0.01.
