Disk laser system enables progress in atomic physics

A powerfull disk laser system delivers 80 mJ at random trigger with 400 ns response time. This system was used for a measurement of proton radius with unprecedented accuracy. The setup of 2 oscillators and 2 amplifiers was built up by D+G laser developer Karsten Schuhmann.
